ELEVENTH MALAYSIA PLAN PROJECTS

PROJECT Project Title:
Sarikei-Bintangor Centralised Sewerage System Master Plan Study

Project Background:
Sarikei-Bintangor Town has a population of about 89,000. The towns are situated on the flat Rajang River basin. They do not have centralized sewerage system. The black water is treated by individual septic tanks. The grey water is discharged directly into the waterways. Due to the population increase, the drains in the built-up areas are seriously polluted.

The project is to carry out a study on the centralized sewerage system to formulate the long-term management and technical strategies to collect, transport, treat and dispose the sewage of the town.

The study shall formulate a master plan for centralized sewerage system that shall provide necessary framework guiding the future sewerage infrastructure development of the town and prioritizing the strategies for implementation.
