The Local Authority (Compulsory Desludging of Septic Tanks) By-Laws, 1998 shall come into force as below:
| (a) | City of Kuching North | : | 1 April 2002 |
| (b) | Council of the City of Kuching South | : | 1 April 2002 |
| (c) | Padawan Municipal Council | : | 1 April 2002 |
| (d) | Sibu Municipal Council | : | 1 July 2010 |
| (e) | Miri City Council | : | 1 July 2010 |
| (f) | Samarahan District Council | : | 1 August 2011 |
