Industrial Training


General Description
Sewerage Services Department Sarawak is one of the technical departments in the State that provides industrial training for diploma and degree students in Civil Engineering / Environmental Engineering.
Objectives
The objectives of the industrial training programmes are:
1. To integrate theoretical knowledge and its application to the related field.
2. To strengthen knowledge, skills and mindset of the trainees.
3. To expose the trainees to work environment.




Training Programmes
The department has set up one (1) programme each for diploma and degree students. At the end of their training, they will present the training report to the department.




Evaluation
The department would evaluate the trainees’ performance based on their assignment and presentation.




Requirements
 1. The department will only admit two (2) trainees at a time.
2. The trainees must be Malaysian citizens pursuing diploma and degree course in Civil Engineering / Environmental Engineering at any recognized institutions of higher learning.
3. The trainees must submit the following documents:

 i. A letter from the institutions of higher learning to confirm the need of the student to undergo industrial training.

ii. An application letter from the students to the department for the industrial training.

Terms & Conditions
1. No financial assistance is provided for the industrial training.
2. Application must reach the department one month prior to the commencement of the industrial training.
3. Acceptance of offer by the trainees must be conveyed to the department within five (5) working days of the date of the letter of offer.
