PROJECT(A) Sistem Saluran Pembetungan Najis Utama Bintulu
Project Background:
Bintulu is the only major urban center of Sarawak having a centralized sewerage system. The system was constructed in early 1980’s.
Bintulu is experiencing rapid urbanisation. New residential areas are continuously being developed together with the redevelopment of the exisiting commercial center. It is now critical to extend the main public sewer lines to the newly developed and redeveloped areas covering the existing commercial center and the old airport area.
Sewerage Services Department Sarawak has appointed Bintulu Development Authority as the implementing agency. Jurutera Wahba Sdn Bhd has been engaged as the engineering consultant.
Project Component :
The Project is for the construction of the trunk sewer as well as the sewer reticulation system for Bintulu CBD which includes all the existing shop houses, old airport and kampung areas.The sewage shall flow by gravity to existing oxidation pond at Tg. Batu.
The works shall include:
(i) Gravity flow sewer reticulation system connecting to the existing CBD sewer pipes:
a. Sewer line 225mm dia. VCP (1622m)
b. Sewer line 300mm dia. VCP (1041m)
c. Sewer line 375mm dia. VCP (170m)
d. Sewer line 450mm dia. VCP (915m)
(ii) A new intermediate pumping station
(iii) Pumping Mains (300mm dia. DI-241m) across Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi

(B) Sistem Saluran Pembetungan Najis Utama Bintulu (Continuation Project RMK-10)
Project Background
The existing sewer line shall be extended to cover the areas around Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi, JA-Drain and Medan Jaya. The sewage shall be channel to the existing Oxidation Pond at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi.
Project Objective
This Project aims to increase the sewerage coverage for Bintulu Town.
